Panzer Tank Attack: "Battle of the Bulge" (1965)

Battle of the Bulge (film)

The filmmakers attempted to condense a battle which stretched across parts of Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg and lasted nearly a month into under 3 hours. They also shot parts of the film on terrain that did not resemble actual battle locations. This left them open to criticism for lack of historical accuracy, but they claimed in the end credits that they had 're-organized' the chronological order of events to maximize the dramatic story.

Tanker's Tuesday: M47 Patton

The M47 Patton is an American main battle tank, the second tank to be named after General George S. Patton, commander of the U.S. Third Army during World War II and one of the earliest American advocates of tanks in battle. It was a further development of the M46 Patton tank

Tanker's Tuesday: M48 Patton

The M48 Patton is a medium tank that was designed in the
United States. It was the third tank to be officially named after
General George S. Patton, commander of the U.S. Third Army
during World War II and one of the earliest American advocates
for the use of tanks in battle It was a further development of the
M47 Patton tank. The M48 Patton served as an interim tank in
U.S. service until replaced by the U.S. Army's first main battle
tank (MBT), the M60. The M48 served as the U.S. Army and
Marine Corps's primary battle tank during the Vietnam War. It
was widely used by U.S. Cold War allies, especially other
NATO countries.

An End To The “Cold War” at the Wargames Holiday Centre.

This was put on at the Wargames Holiday Centre.

My Good Generals, here is the write up from our recent
Cold War game staged here at the WHC by the chaps from
the Reigate club. I have included as many photos as was
deemed sensible, as I took over 100, so when you take a
look through just hover your cursor over the photo to see
the note for the picture.

Outstanding eye candy, take a look!

US Tank List

Over the last year I've been building up the OPFOR, in this case my
spotted beauties of the Neo Basileia ton Rhomaioi, or the new
Byzantine Empire in space (hey why not?). I was concerned that the
number of NRE tanks was growing alarmingly and that they might
out number my US equipment that are used as the Brazos Imperial.
Army. As it turns out I should not have been worried! The Tank count
stands at 224 NRE tanks to 449 BEE tanks...There are times when I
forget my megalomaniac tendencies completely......)

US Tanks:
Following my standard MTO tank battalions have ten tanks
each and infantry battalions have three tanks assigned.

M1A2........72 each  in 6 battalions
M1A1........33 each in 3 battalions (Marines)
M60/A1/3..86 each in 8 battalions
M60A2......10 each in 1 battalion
M48A3/5...48 each in 4 battalions
M47A3......34 each in 3 battalions
M103.........10 each in 1 battalion
M41...........35 Assigned as 3 tank scout platoons to MBT units.
M4A6........30 each in 3 battalions (Sherman brought up to M60 standards)
M151.........18 Assigned as 3 tank scout platoons to MBT units.
M8 Armored Gun System 9 each used as scouts
M4.............65 each in 6 battalions
M5.............9  Assigned as 3 tank scout platoons to M4 units.

Imperial policy can best be summed up this way:
